A lot of rumors and concerns were raised about the Amazon Synod, but this book gives the Pope's conclusions. It is a quick read, but a good one. No, there are no changes in church teaching here, but there is real engagement with important issues: the creation care mandate from Genesis, the important contribution of women in the Church (which might have brought an approving nod from a number of saints, e.g. women who are doctors of the Church), and more. It will disappoint those who want radical change, but it does call the church to fulfill the mandates already in church teaching and to do that in the specific context of the Amazon region.
