These guidelines from the Catholic bishops of the United States are intended to assist bishops in evaluating existing or proposed programs for those engaged in the ministry to persons with homosexual inclinations. The story of family life is the story of love-shared, nurtured, sometimes rejected or lost. And in this uplifting message, the bishops offer families everywhere an inspiring reflection on love. Since the beginning of the world, marriage and blessing have been inseparable. The blessing of marriage survived unharmed from our break with you through original sin. Jesus not only restored, but elevated the blessing of marriage to a sacrament.
