Description

In keeping with the call of recent popes for Catholics to evangelize, the USCCB Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis developed Living as Missionary Disciples: A Resource for Evangelization for encouraging missionary disciples in the task of evangelization. This leadership resource provides principles of evangelization and missionary discipleship, with resources designed for pastoral leaders to develop, enhance, and review their own local strategies to create an evangelizing parish.

It is intended for use by bishops and other clergy, as well as religious, lay, and parish leaders and staff of dioceses, eparchies, associations, parishes, missions, and educational settings (Catholic schools, seminaries, and colleges/universities).

5 of 5 Great Resource June 22, 2020

As a diocesan staff person, I use this resource often in working with parish leaders.  I wish it was available as a PDF resource so the spread of its important message could be shared widely with all parishioners in the parish.  The cost effects the ability of parishes to distribute it widely.  I realize there is a flipbook version, but it is cumbersome and you can't really "write notes in the margin" of a flipbook.  Or have it as a handy reference guide.

I am trying to learn more about evangelization and found that the USCCCB offers me what I need.  The book "Living as Missionary Disciples: A Resource for Evangelization" offers me thigs to consider as I travel the journey of bringing Christ to the world.

This is a program resource and a good one but like most diocese material of this sort it is overwhelming. I guess the authors want to cover all bases.  It leaves me wanting to crawl into a hole instead of encouraged.  I want to know where parishes are going to find all the supermen and women to do all of this.
